School and College Leavers
Through the Galliford Try Academy, we offer a range of career opportunities for school and college leavers interested in engineering and construction-related disciplines.
If you have good qualifications, ideally six GCSE at grade B or above, and/or 'A' Level results totaling a minimum of 240 points or an equivalent qualification, enjoy working as part of a team and have a keen desire to develop a career in the construction industry, then we would like to hear from you.
We offer funding for day release study to gain qualifications such as National Certificate/Diploma or Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Building Studies, Construction, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying or a Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering.
This educational base allows you to work towards professional qualifications, establishing you in a rewarding career in an exciting industry.
Study can be undertaken on a part-time or placement basis; the route you will follow will be determined during initial discussions with the company.
Part-time Study
You will split your time between academic and theoretical study at college/university and practical experience on site or in an office. The costs of the course will be met by the company and full support will be offered both in your studies and in developing your skills.
Placement
Typically you will either be studying full-time at college or university looking to apply some of your theoretical knowledge to real working life during the summer and/or a year out. In some circumstances there may be the potential for sponsorship.
