“I enjoyed industrial training with Galliford Try, whilst studying Civil Engineering Science, and was offered a permanent job following my graduation. Starting as a site engineer, I was then seconded to Ove Arup & Partners, to obtain engineering office design experience, as part of my graduate training programme.
On my return to Galliford Try in 1986, I worked on several heavy engineering projects whilst continuing my training, with periods in both estimating and quantity surveying. I was then promoted to Site Agent, and was responsible for the management of construction projects which have included two new railway stations, an oil terminal upgrade, a new retail park and several other projects.
Since then I have been promoted to Project Manager and most recently to Contracts Manager."
