The Edward Herbert Building
Works undertaken by Galliford Try included a full refurbishment of the Edward Herbert Building at Loughborough University, in addition to the construction of a striking new atrium, created through a new steel frame curved feature roof and the installation of glazed curtain walling.
The former “Herbies Bar”, including kitchen and cellar, were stripped out from the centre of the trading area, opening up the further usable space. Galliford Try finished the internal fit out with high quality hardwood parquet and carpet flooring along with leather sofas and coffee tables. Extensive mechanical and electrical installations to the perimeter walls were hidden by "acoustic" plasterboard dry lining including new acoustic MF ceiling.
Completion was achieved in only 18 weeks.
