Earmarked as an exemplary scheme for low energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, this scheme's Blue Bell Lane Primary Care Centre won the Sustainability Award at the 2009 LIFT Awards. The overall LIFT scheme won the award for LIFT Area of the Year.

Galliford Try was also named Best Supply Chain Partner at the 2008 national LIFT Awards by demonstrating innovation, sustainable solutions, best value and continuous improvement as contractor on this project. This resulted from our commitment to improving services whilst reducing the overall capital costs of the project’s schemes by 25 per cent. 

                                                                                                  

The overall scheme is arranged in phases of work, and comprise the following:

Tranche 1 comprises the £7 million Widnes Health Centre, which includes doctors’ surgeries, pharmacy, audiology and dentistry and the the £5.5 million Tower Hill Health Centre, which includes doctors’ surgeries, pharmacy, dentistry and community centre.

Tranche 2 comprises the £5.5 million Whiston Health Centre, which includes doctors’ surgeries, pharmacy, dentistry and audiology. The £5.4 million Manor Farm Road Health Centre and £2.9 million Longview Drive Health Centre, both comprising doctors’ surgeries are also part of this tranche.

Tranche 3a consists of the £10 million Newton Health Centre, comprising doctors’ surgeries, pharmacy, audiology, X-ray, in-patient and out-patient facilities and the £4.2 million North Huyton Health Centre, which includes doctors’ surgeries, pharmacy and dentistry. Garswood Health Centre, valued at £2.6 million and comprising doctors’ surgeries and pharmacy is also included in this tranche.

Tranche 3b includes the £8.2 million Halewood Health Centre, comprising doctors’ surgeries, pharmacy, dentistry, audiology and council and community centre. The £2.6 million Peel House Lane Health Centre including doctors’ surgeries and pharmacy and the £2.4 million Child Development Centre including doctors’ surgeries and audiology are also part of this tranche.

Tranche 4a includes the construction of Lowe House Primary Care Resource Centre, valued at £9.04 million. The centre will incorporate doctors’ surgeries, pharmacy, audiology and opthamology units.

Tranche 4b entails the construction of Blue Bell Lane Primary Care Centre, an innovative scheme at the forefront of sustainable design and delivery in primary healthcare. The £5.6 million centre has been designed to achieve the Building Research Establishment BREEAM “Excellent” rating. The development will include facilities such as doctors’ surgeries and pharmacy.
