Broomfield Hospital
Broomfield Hospital was required to increase the keyworker staff accommodation. The development, undertaken by Galliford Try, provides bed-sit accommodation for newly trained staff together with a mix of one bedroom flats as well as two and three bedroom houses. In addition, 17 houses were refurbished; making a total of 171 units delivered over seven phases. The construction programme was to allow for the residents to remain in situ as the remaining houses and flats were completed. The scheme was procured via a Design & Build contract.
The hospital has excellent transport links and the design encourages the use of these links by reducing parking and promotes bicycle usage by providing storage that is completely enclosed and secure.
