Midas Homes will work with South Hams District Council and Sovereign Housing to create 51 new one, two, three and four bedroom homes in the development designed by architects Harrison Sutton Partnership. The properties will comprise a mix of apartments, houses, coach houses and townhouses, and in response to local housing needs, at least a third will be classed as affordable. Midas Homes will also build one and refurbish two commercial units for South Hams District Council.
The scheme has already won a National Housebuilder Design Award for its design and will provide eco-friendly homes for the Totnes community, meeting the Eco home Excellent Standard. The mixed-use project will feature innovative building designs, using locally sourced materials and will be a contemporary development , relating to the character of Totnes.
Enabling works will commence on all four sites to create parking facilities for our site subcontractors. The main construction works commenced on Lambe South in March 2007, with a rollover of construction on all four sites up to the completion of the development at the end of 2008.
