Linden Homes has exchanged contracts to purchase the first net zero carbon regeneration site for up to 800 homes from Homes and Communities Agency (HCA). The homes are to be built on the former Graylingwell hospital site in a joint venture with the Affinity Sutton Housing Association.
The Graylingwell site is set in 90 acres of grade II listed “historic parks and gardens of historic interest.” The project will provide approximately 800 homes and commercial/community buildings of which 40 per cent will be affordable.
Further plans for the site include 50,000sq ft of commercial and community facilities, including a theatre, artist studios, offices and restaurant.
The project will generate work until 2014.
